Getting to Know Shannon
Q: Tell us something that we wouldn’t know by looking at you.
SM: I was born and raised in Alaska
Q: Secret Talent?
SM: I'm mastering the art of gluten-free cooking- I make some gluten free pumpkin donuts that are kind of awesome.
Q: What are three things you cannot live without?
SM: 1. Water access. As a professional SUP/kayak instructor, and as someone who just enjoys being on the water, easy water access is everything!
2. Sunscreen....my skin is really light so I definitely have to keep it protected when I'm outside.
3. Foam roller.
Q: First thing you do in the morning…
SM: Drink a big glass of water. Sometimes I'll put a little lemon in it.
Q: Last thing you do before going to bed…
SM: I take 5 or 10 minutes to do some yoga or mindful meditation. Really helps quiet my mind down before bedtime.
Q: Best piece of health advice given to you?
SM: I was freaking out about something to a roommate one morning and she said to me, "girl, all you need to worry about right now is cutting up that grapefruit." It was such a great reminder to stay present and take things one step at a time, even when times are super stressful.
Q: Favorite VROU flavor?
SM: Pineapple Mint
Q: Why VROU?
SM: I am very connected to the nutritional needs of women- both through my own experience as a professional dancer and recreational athlete, and through my work in the fitness and outdoor industries. Proper hydration and nutrition is a game-changer. It's what gets you through the final few minutes of a show, the last miles of a race, even the last few hours of a chaotic work day. Vrou provides women with the vitamins and minerals we need to be our best!
